JUST AROUND THE CORNER
Dear Readers and Donors! We are roughly halfway there. We have exceeded 300 million, and more precisely, as of April 23, the ultrasound fund balance stands at 330,200,000 zlotys. April was a somewhat more difficult month for fundraisers and donors. Tax settlements and holiday purchases were the priority expenses, and it is hardly surprising that people were able to contribute less to our noble campaign. Donations are nevertheless still coming in continuously, and there is a truly realistic chance that the necessary amount to purchase this much-needed device will be raised. The schools, especially those in Bolesławiec municipality and neighboring municipalities, have not yet said their last word. Schools in Kruszyn and Osiecznica set an example by contributing substantial sums to the GIFT FROM THE HEART campaign. We were moved by the attitude of Norbert Jurek, a student in class Ia of Primary School No. 2, who donated a considerable portion of his pocket money to the ultrasound fund. Folk ensembles from Ocice and Żeliszów announced that they would contribute, and there are, after all, many more such ensembles. Workplaces promise donations after completing their balance sheets. In May, secondary-school students will probably collect donations in the streets of the town and surrounding area. We are convinced that they will meet with the understanding and kindness of passers-by. In the final days of March and the first two decades of April, the ultrasound fund was increased by the Artistic Handicrafts Cooperative “Ceramika Artystyczna,” the Municipal Transport Company, the “Senior” District Cooperative for the Disabled, the Bolesławiec District Prosecutor’s Office, PKP Station Cash Desk, PPUP “AMAL,” and M. Górski (Fuel Loading), A. Słupiec, F. Zakrzacka, St. Kondratowicz, T. Zapała, T. Medyński, Br. Rusinek, A. Dolecki, W.J. Tyzenhaus, W. Skrzypiec, A.M. Smorąg, W. Skawińska, Wł. Janczyszyn, St. Zagórski, T. Kuńmierczak, H. Biardzki, T. Rułka, J. Dutkiewicz, E. Uchacz, A. Ćwik, B. Kołodziej, G. Skrzypek from Bolesławiec and E.K. Sambor from Osiecznica, A. Jenczak from Parowa, Kostrzewa from Kruszyn, B.L. Orscy from Nowe Jaroszewice, employees of the Municipal Public Library and the Ceramics Museum, as well as the school Red Cross club at Primary School No. 9 in Bolesławiec, Lidia Ćwiok, Krystyna Pawłowska, Bolesław Osial, and Andrzej Jakubowski.

Attention! It is possible that the Bolesławiec Enthusiasts’ Society will be unable to publish “Głos Bolesławca” in the near future. In that case, the names of donors and the account balance will be published in the bulletins of the Social Ultrasound Committee. The bulletins will be issued at the beginning of each month and made available at banks, the post office, PKO, and posted in public places, such as the lobby of the Municipal Office. We will also contact you through local television and regional daily newspapers (“Nowiny,” “Gazeta Robotnicza,” “Słowo Polskie,” etc.).
