The Polish Indoor Athletics Championships were held from 13 to 15 June at the Grzegorz Dunecki Municipal Stadium in Toruń. On the first day of the competition, Paula Kowalik, a student of Primary School No. 2, won the national long jump title.
The representatives of Primary School No. 2 also put in a good performance in the 600-metre race (all the girls improved their personal bests). The results from this event helped our athletes make up for losses in the previous disciplines. In total, the Bolesławiec team scored 1,607 points, which gave them third place in Poland.
Paula Kowalik triumphed in the overall athletics four-event classification, winning the title of Polish champion. The students of Primary School No. 2 returned from the championships with nine medals. The bronze medallists were: Paula Kowalik, Aneta Weneny, Michaela Niedźwiecka, Michalina Zając, Paula Wilk and Aleksandra Dziuba. The team’s coach is Kazimierz Prokowski.
