The opening of the “For Mum” exhibition took place on Monday, 26 May, in the foyer of the Bolesławiec District Office. The exhibition presents almost 40 works created by participants in Occupational Therapy Workshops and people associated with community self-help centres.
The works, created using various techniques, were made over two months. On the final day of the exhibition (Friday, 30 May), an auction of the displayed works will be held, with all proceeds allocated to purchasing materials for manual activities for people with disabilities.
“That was our intention—to use the money for the development of artists with disabilities,” Ewa Zioła said to the IstotneInformacje.pl portal, vice-president of the Bolesławiec Volunteer Association “Pomocna Dłoń”, which organised the exhibition. As she pointed out, talented people with disabilities dream of having a gallery where they could display their works. It is very important to them. “During the opening, a boy said that it was the best day of his life,” the vice-president added emotionally.
The auction of the works will run from 12:30 to 15:00.
