This year’s city celebration began with a gathering of preschoolers and primary school pupils in the Market Square. An outdoor performance by actors from the Animation Stage of the Jelenia Góra Theatre was prepared for them.
The afternoon part of the celebration began an hour and a half late—the main stage had not been connected to the power supply. The following performers appeared for the residents of Bolesławiec: artistic groups from the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre, Rafał Kubik, the pop-rock band “Kto to” from Legnica, and the star of the evening, “Sumptuastic”.
The manager of “Sumptuastic” prepared a surprise and, during the concert, presented the band with “Gold Records”—an award for selling 15,000 albums. The musicians were surprised and pleased. Below is a brief interview with the band members, a report from the award presentation, and a fragment of the concert.
On the first day of City Days, the Bolesławiec Friends’ Association also celebrated its anniversary, marking 30 years of activity. Several dozen people took part in the meeting. There were speeches and addresses.
Unfortunately, as usual, the city became unsafe in the evening. The police intervened repeatedly, mainly to calm drunk, unruly youths in the area of Asnyka and Łukasiewicza Streets.
