Another major success for Bolesławiec bridge this year. At the National Pairs Tournament held in Leszno on 4 May (marking the 70th anniversary of the founding of Unia Leszno Sports Club), Roland Lippik and Ryszard Makuch achieved an excellent second-place finish. The players compete daily for third-league Pogrom Bolesławiec.
Meanwhile, the Second Friends of Bridge Tournament was held in Bolesławiec on 1 May. Nineteen pairs took part in the competition. Players from the Bolesławiec Bridge Club formed pairs with people who play social bridge in their everyday lives.
The event was intended to popularize this sport. Those players taking part in a tournament for the first time had the opportunity to learn what duplicate bridge involves. The youngest participant, Norman Lippik, was 11 years old! The competition was won by Jordan Czopko (in his first tournament ever) and Antoni Ochot.
