Following the official ceremony, the competition began. Georges André Thiault, captain of the visiting team, played the tournament’s first set against Mayor Piotr Roman. After a very intense and evenly matched contest, Piotr Roman narrowly lost to the Frenchman.
The players were then divided into two age categories. Despite the relatively relaxed atmosphere, everyone tried to defeat their opponent. As a result, spectators were able to watch many exciting matches. More than 45 matches were played in total.
The hosts ultimately won the tournament; nevertheless, the main aim of the event was to establish cooperation between Bolesławiec and Nogent sur Marne in sport as well. The TOP players have already been invited to a return match.
