JmTrio primarily performs compositions by Mencel, who is the pianist and leader. Critics speak very favorably about jmTrio's work, emphasizing that the music it proposes goes far beyond jazz stereotypes. Mencel moves through various areas of music, including ethnic and contemporary music.
The leader of jmTrio has worked with outstanding figures in jazz, including English violinist Nigel Kennedy, Zbigniew Namysłowski, Jarosław Śmietana and Marcin Pospieszalski.
