In the under-15 quarterfinals held in Kluczbork last weekend, TOP Bolesławiec finished second. The Bolesławiec team were not the favourites in the competition. In Kluczbork, they faced the provincial champions: MKS “Jedynka” Kluczbork (Opole Voivodeship) and UKS Krzanowice (Silesian Voivodeship), as well as the Lubusz Voivodeship runners-up, Ares Nowa Sól.
The Bolesławiec players played their first match against the hosts, “Jedynka” Kluczbork. It was the decisive match. TOP won 2–1 (24–26, 25–12 and a 15–12 tie-break). In the matches against UKS Krzanowice, all the quarterfinal teams were without a chance. The girls from Silesia won all their matches without losing a single set.
In their final match on Sunday, the Bolesławiec players faced Ares Nowa Sól. It was the last match of the tournament, and the standings meant that the winner of this encounter would qualify for the semifinals alongside UKS Krzanowice. The TOP volleyball players did not disappoint and defeated the Nowa Sól team 2–0 (25–22 and 25–14), achieving a historic success.
The semifinal tournament will be held in Bydgoszcz on 26 and 27 April. The two best teams will advance to the final. Although the TOP volleyball players are not the favourites in the competition, they may give Bolesławiec supporters a major surprise.
