At the district-level competition of the 21st edition of the Olympiad of Construction Knowledge and Skills, held on 8 March in Zielona Góra, a four-person team from ZSB took fourth place. “It is a very satisfying result,” says Łukasz Woleński, a third-year student and competition participant. As he points out, the team set itself one goal: to improve ZSB’s result from last year. No one expected such a high position.
What is more, Łukasz Woleński won third place individually and advanced to the national stage, which will be held on 4–5 April in Wieluń. “It really surprised me,” the talented student reveals. All the more so because most of the participants in the district competition were fourth-year students. As a third-year student, Łukasz had not yet had time to learn the material covered in the final year of secondary school. Despite this, he showed his best side at the competition.
“My only goal is to achieve an equally good result in the national final,” the Olympiad participant admits. If he succeeds, he will secure admission to construction studies and the highest grades in some subjects. But, as Łukasz Woleński points out, there will be one more thing at stake in this competition: “the satisfaction of being one of the best in Poland.”
