On Wednesday, March 12, a simulated fire broke out in one of the buildings of the Gerresheimer factory (formerly Polfa). An electrical system short circuit occurred. “Stored packaging and semi-finished products caught fire,” Robert Brzeziński, deputy commander of PSP in Bolesławiec, explains about the details of the operation.

The exercises proceeded smoothly. Two people who suffered smoke inhalation were evacuated and taken to the hospital in Bolesławiec.

“We organize this type of exercise at larger plants throughout our county,” Brzeziński explains. “As firefighters, we need to familiarize ourselves with the facility and, at the same time, instruct plant employees on how they should behave in the event of a fire,” he adds.
