Three residents of Gościszów were presented with silver medals “For Merits to the Defence of the Country” during the most recent session of the County Council. The medals are awarded by the Minister of National Defence to parents who raised children to become exemplary soldiers.
The Trościński couple raised seven children, including five sons. Four of them served in the military. “This is an honour for us,” says Maria Trościńska. “The state remembered us and our children,” adds Jan Trościński.
Rozalia Troszczyńska is the mother of four children: three sons and one daughter. All of Mrs Troszczyńska’s children performed their military service impeccably. Her daughter attained the rank of senior warrant officer.
The medals were presented by Lieutenant Colonel Zbigniew Borysewicz, commander of the Bolesławiec WKU, County Head Cezary Przybylski and County Council Chairman Karol Stasik. The deputy mayor of Nowogrodziec presented flowers to the parents of the exemplary soldiers.
