On Saturday, 12 January, TOP Bolesławiec hosted MPK Bogatynia. The match took place in the SP 1 gym on Jana Pawła II Street in Bolesławiec. The game was ultimately supposed to guarantee our players first place in Group B.

Throughout the first set, TOP’s volleyball players clearly dominated their opponents. Marcin Czarniecki’s confident serving and setting helped Bolesławiec build a substantial lead. Libero Biczak and our receivers played confidently on the court. The set ended in a convincing 25–11 victory for Bolesławiec.

The second set was meant to show whether the team was already well organised and able to withstand pressure from the opponents. Our players often had problems in second sets. However, from the very beginning of this set, TOP controlled the game and was not caught off guard in any aspect. Rutkowski and Potocki attacked confidently, which translated into points. Pierzchalski, later replaced by Marcinkiewicz, also attacked effectively. Marcinkiewicz’s first attacks were not finding their mark, but this improved later. The set ended 25–15 to TOP.

In the third set, the substitutes had an opportunity to demonstrate their skills. The coach brought on Kaczurowski, Wiatrowski and Wantuch, who were playing with increasing confidence, in place of the regular starters. Our middle blockers impressed with powerful attacks and effective blocking. The entire match was capped by a fine attack from our setter, Czarniecki. Our volleyball players won the final set 25–14.
