On Saturday, Member of the European Parliament Lidia Geringer de Oedenberg visited Bolesławiec. The meeting with the MEP was held in the conference room of the District Office. Many young people attended the meeting. Teachers from Bolesławiec schools were also present.

Lidia Geringer de Oedenberg spoke about the benefits for Poland resulting from its membership in the European Union. The meeting was moderated by the MEP’s assistant, Daniel Biernat. In the second part of the meeting, Lidia Geringer de Oedenberg answered questions from Bolesławiec residents. They asked, among other things, about the risks associated with introducing the euro in our country, their assessment of Minister Fotyga’s actions, and European Union policy regarding unemployment among young people.

At the end of the one-hour meeting, Lidia Geringer de Oedenberg held a mini-competition. Several people in the room who correctly answered a question asked by the MEP received small prizes. At the end of the one-hour meeting, Lidia Geringer de Oedenberg announced a new “Europe 2020” competition. Those who want to win a trip to the European Parliament must describe what Poland and Europe will look like in 13 years. Entries will be accepted until 30 November.
