Work is underway in Bolesławiec on the reconstruction of Góralska Street. Completion is scheduled for the end of September. The scope of the works includes removing the existing cobblestone surface and laying an asphalt surface, reconstructing the existing pavements, and building a drainage system. The value of the construction works is nearly PLN 820,000. The contractor is a company from Jelenia Góra.

The renovation of the pavements on Wybickiego Street and Brody Street is scheduled to be completed by the end of August. The cost of these investments is almost PLN 230,000. The contractor for both this investment and the link between Piastów Street and Tysiąclecia Street is Bolesławiec’s Municipal Communal Services Company. Work on the construction of the link was completed this month, at a cost of PLN 31,500.

The Mayor of Bolesławiec signed an agreement concerning the co-financing of the renovation of provincial road no. 297 in Bolesławiec. The Lower Silesian Provincial Roads Authority will renovate the road near the intersection of Łokietka, Wesoła and Zgorzelecka streets, as well as the section from the intersection with Komuny Paryskiej Street to Leśna Street. The estimated cost of the project is PLN 350,000, of which PLN 100,000 will come from the city budget.

As part of ongoing road maintenance, the pavement running through St. Cross Square and the subsiding section of road on Zabobrze Street have been renovated. The works were carried out by a company from Bolesławiec. Another Bolesławiec-based company is carrying out the paving of the main path and the area around the monument, as well as the entrance gate to the cemetery on Willowa Street. The cost of these works is PLN 30,000. In accordance with the agreement concluded on 19 June 2007 with the Lower Silesian Voivode, the costs will be covered by the Council for the Preservation of Memory of Combat and Martyrdom in Warsaw.

Work on the renovation of roads on Staszica Street and Graniczna Street will continue until 28 September. The works include constructing a new surface for the county road on Staszica Street, from Góralska Street to Graniczna Street, and new road and pavement surfaces on Graniczna Street, from Łąkowa Street to Wałowa Street. The County Office is co-financing the renovation of the road surface on Staszica Street, contributing up to PLN 250,000. The remaining funds come from the city budget. The total cost of the project will be nearly PLN 840,000. The contractor is a company from Świdnica.

New parking areas

More than PLN 147,000 has been allocated from the city budget for the construction of a parking area, including drainage and lighting, on Dolne Młyny Street, near Municipal School Complex No. 1. The parking area is intended for passenger cars. It will have 23 parking spaces and two spaces for people with disabilities. The contractor is a company from Bolesławiec.

A new parking area will also be built on Gałczyńskiego Street. The scope of the works includes constructing a parking area for passenger cars with eleven parking spaces and one space for people with disabilities. The contractor is the Municipal Communal Services Company from Bolesławiec. The cost of constructing the parking area on Gałczyńskiego Street is more than PLN 65,000. The planned completion date is 30 September of this year.

Special Subzone of the Economic Zone

Work has already begun on the construction of a road linking Kościuszki Street with Modłowa Street, along the northern boundary of Bolesławiec’s special subzone of the economic zone. Bolesławiec’s Long-Term Investment Plan has allocated PLN 2.6 million for this purpose. The 836-metre-long and 7-metre-wide road will be built with asphalt concrete on a reinforced base. The project also includes a 2-metre-wide pavement on the right-hand side, road drainage, and lighting poles spaced every 40 metres. The contractor will be a company from Świdnica.
