For the first time in the history of youth bridge in Bolesławiec, a small three-person group of students of the game took part in the BOOM 2007 National Youth Bridge Camp in Międzyzdroje. The camp is organized by the Polish Bridge Sport Association for young people from all over Poland. The youngest member of the group, Rafał Molenda, achieved his first success.

Just 11 years old, Rafał was the youngest participant at the entire camp, which was attended by more than 70 young male and female bridge players from across Poland. In the overall final standings for all participants, which included both tournament results and a final test of bridge skills, Rafał Molenda emerged as the winner in the beginners’ group. He was also recognized by the coach as the best player in his group.

This success was made possible by the training of children and young people launched last year by the Bolesławiec Bridge Club. This year, as the new school year begins, BKB will start another recruitment drive for young people to join its training groups. This time, the club plans to organize classes in both secondary schools and lower-secondary schools. More details about the recruitment will be available soon.
