The County Social Council for People with Disabilities brings together representatives of non-governmental organizations working for people with disabilities. The council’s term of office is four years, while that of its executive committee is one year. Several days ago, the council’s new leadership was elected at the county office building. Danuta Zielińska became chair, Jadwiga Bobek deputy chair, Andrzej Caban secretary, and Jadwiga Pietraszkiewicz and Franciszek Piotrowski members of the executive committee.
The main tasks of the social council are to inspire initiatives aimed at the professional and social integration of people with disabilities, uphold the rights of people with disabilities, give opinions on county projects operating for the benefit of people with disabilities and assess their implementation, as well as give opinions on resolutions of the county council concerning people with disabilities.
