A 51-year-old man from Bolesławiec crashed his car into a vehicle driven by a mother with children. The accident occurred on the evening of June 22 in Łaziska. The man had more than four per mille of alcohol in his blood. The passengers of the Peugot, two children aged eight and three, were injured in the collision. The boys are in hospital under observation.

According to police statistics, drunk drivers caused nearly four thousand accidents in 2003, in which 495 people were killed and more than five thousand were injured. Drivers under the influence of alcohol most often drive too fast, fail to yield the right of way, and enter the opposite lane.
