Jolanta Ajlikow-Czarnecka was an artist, longtime educator and teaching-methods specialist. She loved art and animals. She was a mentor to many residents of Bolesławiec. From 1970 to 1992, she worked at I Liceum Ogólnokształcące. Until recently, she ran her own school, where she prepared candidates for art academies.

“She was a demanding teacher, but she gave a great deal of herself,” says Katarzyna Żak, a former student and currently deputy head of I Liceum Ogólnokształcące. “She helped people spread their wings. She was a wonderful spiritual guide in many matters of life,” says Anna Bober-Tubaj, the current director of Muzeum Ceramiki and also a student of Professor Czarnecka. “We were like sisters. We had similar feelings. Her loss is a tremendous pain for me, as it surely is for many people who knew her. It is a great loss for the city,” says Krystyna Gay-Kutschenreiter, longtime commissioner of the Ceramic and Sculpture Workshops.

Jolanta Ajlikow-Czarnecka died on Friday at the hospital in Bolesławiec following a serious operation. The funeral will take place next week, probably in Warsaw.

The Boleslawiec.org portal extends its condolences to Jolanta Ajlikow-Czarnecka’s family.
