Electronic recruitment to the upper-secondary schools of Bolesławiec County for the 2007/2008 school year was conducted for the third time this year. More than 1,300 lower-secondary school graduates logged into the system. Earlier, on 28 June, trial recruitment was conducted, during which virtual first-year classes were created. At that time, taking students’ preferences into account, it was decided that the following classes would not be created: a waiter technician class at the Comprehensive and Vocational Schools Complex, a mechanical technician class, and a basic vocational school class for “cutting machine operator” at the Mechanical Schools Complex. In their place, a second basic vocational school class—“motor vehicle mechanic”—was created. The size of two technician classes was also halved: “road construction technician” and “environmental protection technician.” In addition, a second multi-vocational class (general construction occupations) was created at the basic vocational school of the Construction Schools Complex.

In the first stage of this year’s recruitment, only 65 students were not assigned places. This is a success, as the number is significantly lower than in previous years, both during the two earlier online recruitment campaigns and during traditional recruitment. Candidates who have not yet been assigned to any class should contact schools that still have vacancies. Supplementary recruitment will run from 10 to 14 July. Additional recruitment will begin on 16 August and continue until the end of that month.

Any problems with recruitment can be reported to the Department of Education, Culture, Physical Culture and Sport of the Bolesławiec County Office (the office building at Piłsudski Square, 7th floor, room 708). Places are still available at schools including: the Electronics Schools Complex, the Trade and Services Schools Complex, the Comprehensive and Vocational Schools Complex, the Mechanical Schools Complex, and the Construction Schools Complex. The current list of vacancies will be available on the official recruitment website of Bolesławiec County.
