The project was authored by people associated with the county office: Dariusz Kwaśniewski, Member of the Bolesławiec County Board; Alicja Krzyszczak, Head of the Education, Culture, Physical Culture and Sport Department of the County Office; and Cezariusz Rudyk, director of the County Centre for Education and Staff Training. They developed the “Creative, Enterprising, Healthy County” project using interesting proposals prepared by teachers from county schools and institutions. It received a very high assessment from the competition committee. This is clearly demonstrated by the fact that our county was granted approximately PLN 180,000 out of the approximately PLN 197,000 requested. This represents 70% of the value of all initiatives carried out under the project. The applicant will provide the remainder.
“Creative County”
Who will benefit? Above all, students. The program’s first area (“Creative County”) includes more than 1,400 hours of extracurricular classes and educational programs, carried out from September through the end of December. Subject clubs and activities will be created and conducted in foreign languages, mathematics, Polish, history, geography, cultural studies, as well as art and theatre. It is estimated that more than 1,700 students and pupils from county schools and institutions will take part. In addition, thematic training sessions and conferences for teachers and parents, related to supporting young people’s achievements, will be organized, totaling 46 hours for approximately 500 participants. The area aims to develop scientific and artistic interests.
“Enterprising County”
In the second area (“Enterprising County”), teachers will organize more than 300 hours of educational programs promoting entrepreneurship and career orientation. Approximately 400 students will take part in these activities. The offer will include, among others: “Future Engineer – from Physics to Electronics,” “Mastering the Balance Sheet and Financial Result,” “Be Enterprising,” and “The Right Choice – a Secure Professional Future.” The main aim of this area is to try to change the way young people think: to show them opportunities offered by new professions, the importance of technical education and advanced technologies, and to emphasize the significance of entrepreneurship.
“Healthy County”
Following the principle that a healthy mind lives in a healthy body, the third area (“Healthy County”) includes nearly 700 hours of sports and recreational activities in all the most popular sports: football, basketball, volleyball and athletics, for approximately 500 participants. “Healthy County” also includes nearly 300 hours of therapeutic, preventive and health programs for more than 700 students and pupils. This area will include addiction-prevention programs addressing alcohol and drugs, first-aid courses and assertiveness training. The final module of “Healthy County” is the organization of several forms of youth recreation, including during the summer holidays—nearly 50 days of recreation in total for approximately 170 people.
The funding obtained will allow teachers and educators to make productive use of their time to support the development of those in their care. County office employees and staff of county educational institutions announce that they will implement new projects in the coming years. The first step has already been taken.
