The competition, organised by Poland, the Czech Republic and Germany, aims to promote entrepreneurship and innovative achievements across the Euroregion. The organisers address representatives of small and medium-sized enterprises, non-governmental organisations, local government units and scientific and research institutions.
The jury, comprising Maciej Gałęski, Marek Obrębalski, Janusz Prus, Karol Stasik and Jerzy Zieliński, awarded the following prizes:
In the best innovation category:
- a prize of EUR 1,500 and a statuette – VUTUS Vyzkumny ustav textilnich stroju Liberec a.s. (Liberec Textile Machinery Research Institute S.A.) for the CAMEL pneumatic weaving machine designed to produce technical fabrics
- a prize of EUR 750 – CZYRKO Budowa Maszyn for a technological line and equipment for shredding and separating municipal solid waste
- a prize of EUR 250 – ULT AG for the LAS 280 extraction and filtration unit
In the best cross-border cooperation category:
- a prize of EUR 1,500 and a statuette – EXIM Mikulasovice s.r.o. for the production of decorative (PES) and insulating (cotton) bands and ornamental ribbons
- a prize of EUR 750 – Käppler & Pausch GmbH for commissioning work, providing services and technology transfer
- a prize of EUR 250 – Firmenausbildungsring Oberland e.V. (Oberland Company Training Association) for training Czech young people in CNC and mechatronics
In the best public-private cooperation category:
- a prize of EUR 1,500 and a statuette – Förderverein Burgsberg e.V. (Bursberg Promotion Association) for promoting the exchange of information about Germany and abroad and all activities serving understanding between nations
- a prize of EUR 750 – MultiMediaPark Görlitz GmbH (Görlitz Multimedia Park Ltd.) for educational offerings and projects in the field of new media
- a prize of EUR 250 – DREBOL Sp. z o.o. for building a road (1.4 km), improving transport links and upgrading infrastructure in the village of Zbylutów, and Stredni prumyslova skola stavebni, Liberec, (Secondary Industrial Building School) for exchanges and internships for students of the Czech secondary school at a German company
After the awards ceremony, it was time for a less formal part of the event – a gala banquet bringing together representatives of various industries. An additional attraction was a performance by a fakir (name to be added) and his snake dance, as well as the show "Spirala", prepared and performed by the well-liked mime from Bolesławiec, Bogdan Nowak.
