Officers from the Property Recovery Unit in Zgorzelec received information that a man travelling in an Opel passenger car had stolen industrial and food products from a petrol station in Zgorzelec County. The police immediately took steps to detain the perpetrator and recover the stolen property. Less than a dozen minutes later, they spotted the suspect’s vehicle at another station.
The officers detained the 28-year-old man and searched his car. Inside, they found and secured stolen items worth a total of more than PLN 3,000. The man stole, among other things, motor oils, car-care products and various types of keys.
The recovered equipment will be returned to its owner, while the 28-year-old resident of Zgorzelec will face trial for theft. He may be sentenced to up to 5 years in prison.
