After breaking up with Mark Darcy, with whom she was supposed to spend the rest of her life, Bridget is single again—this time in her forties. Her irrepressible optimism leads her to focus on new professional challenges as well as old and new friends. For the first time in her life, Miss Jones feels that she has complete control over her life. Could anything disturb this peace? In addition to Zellweger and Firth, the film features Patrick Dempsey, known from the “Transformers” series and the television series “Grey’s Anatomy,” as well as Oscar winner Emma Thompson. The director is Sharon Maguire, creator of “Bridget Jones’s Diary.”
Also screening is the disaster film “Deepwater Horizon,” about the crew of the world’s largest and most advanced drilling platform, who must face the unimaginable power of the sea during a catastrophe of unprecedented scale, as well as “The Last Family,” the story of the family of Zdzisław Beksiński, one of the most distinctive Polish painters of the 20th century, and his son, Tomasz Beksiński, a cult music journalist and translator. For the youngest viewers, there is “The Secret Life of Pets,” a funny animated comedy about the lives of pets who, after their owners leave home, lead their own separate lives full of adventures, intrigues and fun.
