The coalition that had governed Bolesławiec County for two years (Platforma Samorządowa–PSL–SLD) has broken up. Two councillors from the Polish People’s Party left it: Ewa Sondaj and Ewa Suchecka. What does this mean? Karol Stasik, chair of the County Council, told us that the information had not reached him yet. “But in that case there will be 10 councillors until we find a partner,” he commented.
Unofficially, however, we learned that coalition councillors had long suspected that PSL councillors Ewa Sondaj and Ewa Suchecka would leave. The current coalition has lost its majority. Does this mean a new one will be formed? It is no secret, our source tells us, that PSL deputy county head Marian Haniszewski tried to reach an agreement with Ziemia Bolesławiecka and the Forum club of Piotr Roman. It is speculated that in the new arrangement Haniszewski himself will become the new county head, while the new deputy county head will probably be Jan Cołokidzi, head of Ziemia Bolesławiecka. The problem is that the potential PSL–Ziemia Bolesławiecka–Forum–PiS coalition has 11 councillors, while two more are needed to dismiss the county head.
We were unable to contact Ewa Sondaj or Stanisław Chwojnicki, a full-time member of the County Executive Board (SLD). Deputy County Head Marian Haniszewski answered the phone but said he was busy and asked us to call back at around 1:00 p.m.
We will certainly return to the matter.
