Bolesławiec City Days are taking place in Bolesławiec. The two-day family-oriented recreational event is being held in the city center, at Piłsudski Square and in the green area near Bolesławiecki Ośrodek Kultury. The Saturday part of the two-day event was hosted by Elizabeth Duda and Conrado Moreno, known from the television program “Europa da się lubić”.
On Saturday at 4:00 p.m., the European anthem was played at Piłsudski Square. It was performed by the choir of Państwowa Szkoła Muzyczna “Kamerton” under the baton of Aleksander Samostrokow. Unfortunately, immediately after the choir’s performance, a torrential downpour forced the organizers to suspend the event.
People took shelter from the storm under the passage connecting the renovated building of Kino Forum and Klub Pegaz. Strong gusts of wind damaged the tent of a commercial stall.
After the ceremonial opening of the event, vocalists from the music department of Państwowa Szkoła Muzyczna performed on stage, as did the “Oktawa” group from Primary School No. 4. Later, the “Low Atten Dance Band” big band from Bolesławiec’s partner city Česká Lípa performed on stage. After the concert, the “Singing Europe” program began.
The audience could see winners of the television programs “Szansa na sukces” and “Droga do Gwiazd”. Saturday’s event also featured flamenco dance performances by dance groups from Bolesławiecki Ośrodek Kultury. In addition to watching musicians, choir singers and dancers perform, the residents of Bolesławiec could take part in various competitions and games.
Additional attractions on the first day of the city festival included self-defense and intervention-technique demonstrations by Szkoła Służb Ochrony “Kobra” in Jelenia Góra; martial arts demonstrations presented by Policealne Studium Pracowników Ochrony; and free makeup for children and adults offered by Studium Kosmetyczne in Bolesławiec.
In the evening, the Bolesławiec band “Pireus” performed on stage. The musicians immersed the audience in the rhythm of Greek music. The first day of City Days ended with the “Dancing Europe” music event, prepared by Muzyczne Radio from Jelenia Góra.
