October 3 is a national holiday in Germany. The driving ban will apply from Sunday, October 2 (from 12:00 a.m.) until Monday, October 3 (until 10:00 p.m.). Bolesławiec police ask those travelling to Germany to comply with the regulations in force in that country.
The restriction applies not only to motorways but to all public roads in Germany. The ban covers vehicles weighing more than 7.5 tonnes and trucks with trailers. A special permit is required to drive during this period. Failure to comply with the ban may result in a fine of 120 euros for the driver, and as much as 570 euros for the contracting party (freight forwarder).
