Below we present another announcement from Żywiec Zdrój concerning the incident in Bolesławiec.:
Update of 27 September – Announcement concerning the resumption of sales of two suspended batches of Żywioł Żywiec Zdrój
All tests and analyses completed so far by the sanitary services have revealed no irregularities. The safety of Żywiec Zdrój products has not been called into question, so we decided to resume sales of the two previously suspended batches of highly carbonated Żywioł water: S:08.08/08:49/3/1 and S: 20.04/11:04/3/1.
The quality and safety of all Żywiec Zdrój products are particularly important to the company. For this reason, immediately after receiving information about the incident in Bolesławiec, as a precautionary measure we decided to temporarily suspend the distribution of the two product batches subject to the inspection authorities’ proceedings.
The decision to resume sales was made on the basis of the results of inspections and tests carried out recently:
- The State District Sanitary Inspector in Wałcz conducted a thorough inspection at the factory in Mirosławiec and found no irregularities.
- The Provincial Sanitary and Epidemiological Station in Szczecin tested reference samples from the batches marked S:08.08/08:49/3/1 and S:20.04/11:04/3/1, as well as samples from current production, and confirmed that they also raised no concerns.
- The Provincial Sanitary Inspectorate in Wrocław confirmed that it had tested samples collected at the Techbol general-purpose wholesaler distributing chemicals and packaging, where the consumer from Bolesławiec made the purchase. The analysis included, among other things, full shrink-wrapped packs and individual bottles of highly carbonated Żywioł water from various batches found in the wholesaler’s warehouse. The test results were also correct.
Work on the final identification of the substances found in Bolesławiec in one bottle of Żywioł Żywiec Zdrój water is still ongoing. We remain fully available to the inspection authorities and are working closely with the Sanitary Inspectorate, the Police and the Prosecutor’s Office to enable the ongoing investigation to be completed thoroughly and as quickly as possible.
