Officers from the Police Station in Chojnów, investigating a burglary and the theft of, among other things, gas cylinders, wind turbines and other metal components worth more than PLN 4,000, identified and detained a person suspected of the offence. The 37-year-old resident of Legnica was taken into police custody.
At the same time, officers from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Legnica identified the same man as the perpetrator of a burglary at one of Legnica’s companies. This time, the perpetrator stole over 2 tonnes of scrap metal and copper granulate worth a total of PLN 60,000. Both incidents took place in September. The 37-year-old confessed to both burglaries.
Police recovered some of the property stolen in Chojnów. Moreover, at their request, the court ordered the burglar’s temporary detention. The detained man now faces up to 10 years in prison.
