Żywiec Zdrój has issued another statement regarding the case involving burns suffered by a 31-year-old man from Bolesławiec.

Below, we present the full statement:

Update of 23 September at 12:00.

For the safety of consumers, we would like to provide the latest information regarding the report from Bolesławiec.

We would like to emphasize that the foreign substance was found in only one bottle, with the batch number: S: 20/04/11:04/3/1. As reported by the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate in an official statement, apart from the case in Bolesławiec, there is currently no evidence that Żywioł Żywiec Zdrój water poses a health risk to consumers. The safety of other products has not been questioned in any way.

Information obtained through cooperation with the Police indicates that the bottle from which the consumer drank contained three chemical substances, including ethanol, or ethyl alcohol, which is widely used. We conducted a detailed verification and confirmed that, apart from ethyl alcohol, the bottling plant in Mirosławiec does not have the other two chemical substances available, nor any products containing them.

At the same time, all stages of the product’s storage and distribution are being checked, including the multi-sector wholesale outlet distributing chemicals and packaging in Bolesławiec, where the product involved in the proceedings was purchased.

We remain at the disposal of the inspection authorities. We are awaiting the results of the tests conducted by the inspection authorities and are making every effort to clarify the causes of the situation as quickly as possible.
