Officers from the Criminal Department of Police Station I in Jelenia Góra arrested a 19-year-old resident of Jelenia Góra suspected of car burglaries and thefts. Officers established that the 19-year-old had committed six property crimes in Jelenia Góra between July and September this year. These included four car thefts involving vehicles of various makes. Moreover, the resident of Jelenia Góra took advantage of a moment of inattention by staff at one of the shops and stole a set of knives, and took two mountain bikes from an unlocked car. The victims’ total losses amount to nearly PLN 40,000.

It is possible that the arrested man has committed more offences of this kind. Officers recovered the stolen vehicles. One car had been cut up for parts, one was damaged, and the remaining two were returned to their owners intact. The 19-year-old was taken into police custody. He faces up to 10 years in prison.
