The show will feature hilarious misunderstandings, sudden twists and the costume changes beloved by audiences! This cannot be described—you have to see it!
When a world-famous tenor is due to arrive in Cleveland, opera lovers’ emotions reach a fever pitch. Everyone waits with bated breath for the outstanding artist. However, just before the gala premiere of “Otello”, everything starts to go wrong. The reason is… the mood and ill health of the evening’s leading star, Tito Merelli (Olaf Lubaszenko), and, even worse, marital problems that lead to tragedy! Yet the premiere must take place at any cost!
Desperate Opera Director Sanders (Andrzej Blumenfeld) will stop at nothing, even the most scandalous deception. And just when the idea seems perfect and fully developed, the carefully devised plot is complicated by women: Diana (Katarzyna Żak), a nymphomaniac prima donna; Maggie (Marta Wierzbicka), the Director’s virginally beautiful daughter; Julia (Halina Bednarz), the highly excitable President of the Opera Lovers’ Society; and Maria Merelli (Andżelika Piechowiak), the Maestro’s temperamental Italian wife. Adding even more spice is a hotel bellboy, a foreigner who breaks every convention.
Will the Opera Director be forced to cancel the performance? Or will Max (Marek Kaliszuk), the Director’s assistant, a young and unfulfilled tenor, heroically save the situation by taking on the role of Otello and, to everyone’s surprise, delight the audience with his heavenly voice?
