Bolesławiec County is governed by a coalition of Platforma Samorządowa, PSL and SLD. The starosta, Dariusz Kwaśniewski, is from Platforma, the deputy starosta, Marian Haniszewski, is from the Polish People's Party, while the salaried member of the County Board, Stanisław Chwojnicki, is from the Democratic Left Alliance. As it turned out, the county PSL councillors' club has just lost one member—the non-salaried member of the County Board, Zbigniew Mitera. The councillor left because, during one of the Board's meetings, the deputy starosta, Marian Haniszewski, allegedly insulted him. In a conversation with “ii”, Z. Mitera explained that he had asked whether energy-absorbing barriers would be installed in Kierżno (Nowogrodziec municipality). In response, he allegedly heard the deputy starosta tell him not to “get uppity”.
Zbigniew Mitera left the county PSL councillors' club, but he is still a member of the County Board. “No one has dismissed me yet,” he stressed. “I did not come here to build a career; I came to serve the residents. If I am dismissed, I will not be upset about it at all. And if someone comes in my place who performs these duties better, I will even be grateful to him.”
Deputy starosta Marian Haniszewski is on holiday abroad. “I do not know what I did to offend Zbigniew Mitera. Let us not distort the facts”—the PSL activist and deputy head of the County Board commented on the situation. He added that when he returned from holiday, he would investigate the matter.
