On Thursday, September 1, the duty officer at the Municipal Police Headquarters in Legnica received a report from a distraught mother, who informed him that her 8-year-old son was missing. Police officers immediately went to the scene and determined that the mother had left the child for only a moment in front of a church, which she entered to take care of an administrative matter. When she returned, the boy was gone.
The frightened 32-year-old from Legnica searched for her child on her own for nearly an hour. Having given up, she asked the police officers for help. The lost and frightened child was found by a community police officer, who recognized the 8-year-old and looked after him until his mother arrived. “The boy was happy when he saw his mother again,” said the officer from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Legnica.
