A resident of Lubin went to a petrol station early in the morning, where he bought beer. He decided to drink it behind the premises. At one point, he noticed that a window in the back room was ajar. He pushed it open and climbed inside. He came across two handbags belonging to station employees. He checked what was inside and took their wallets and phones.
It turned out that payment cards were among the loot. The man therefore went shopping. Using one of the stolen cards, he visited three shops, where he bought groceries for himself.
The station staff reported the theft to the Lubin police. The case was handled by officers from the Criminal Department. They quickly established who could be responsible for such a brazen theft. The man was detained. Police recovered one of the stolen mobile phones. The 34-year-old resident of Lubin has already been charged with burglary. He faces up to 10 years in prison.
