Lower-secondary schools
In the 2016/2017 school year, students in the first and second grades of lower-secondary school will use free textbooks. These will be textbooks for all compulsory subjects and will be loaned from the school library at the beginning of the new school year. The books will be purchased using a grant from the Ministry of National Education.
For children who attend religious education classes, parents purchase the textbook themselves.
For students in the third grade of lower-secondary school, parents purchase the textbooks under the existing rules, in accordance with the schools’ lists.
Primary schools

These will be textbooks for all compulsory subjects and will be loaned from the school library at the beginning of the new school year. The books and workbooks will be purchased using a grant from the Ministry of National Education.
For children who attend religious education classes, parents purchase the textbook themselves.
For students in the sixth grade of primary school, parents purchase the textbooks under the existing rules, in accordance with the schools’ lists.
