On 16 August, after 10 p.m., police officers from the prevention unit of the Lubin police headquarters noticed a man approaching the fence of the municipal cemetery in Lubin. He then jumped over the wall and entered the cemetery grounds. As it turned out, he did so in order to steal two grave candles. When he jumped over the wall again, officers were already waiting for him. During his arrest, the thief was very aggressive. It also turned out that he was completely drunk, with nearly 3 per mille of alcohol in his system.

The 28-year-old explained to the officers that the place where he planned to spend the night had no lighting. The stolen grave candles were supposed to serve precisely this purpose. The man has already been charged. For six months, he will have to perform community service.
