The aim of the campaign is to apply in practice the knowledge that high school students acquire in entrepreneurship classes. As one of the volunteers, Izabela Karolik, told us, the campaign has been running for three years. She admitted that people have the most trouble filling in the sections concerning income and expenses, which are “mixed up and require many calculations.” The assistance is used primarily by people aged 40 to 50, but there is no shortage of younger people either.
As part of the “I Already Know How” campaign, the students help everyone interested not only with tax returns, but also with writing cover letters and résumés, as well as preparing for job interviews. Importantly, they do this free of charge. “We teach students selflessness,” Mirosław Sakowski, the campaign’s organizer, a long-time teacher at II LO and a City Councilor, told us.
Free assistance with settling accounts with the Tax Office is available until the end of April. The high school students are on duty on Tuesdays from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in room 216.
