In recent days, officers from the Lower Silesian-Saxon Nysa police group conducted operations targeting drug-related crime. As a result of the activities, they identified locations where substantial quantities of drugs might be kept.
For several days, officers from the Lower Silesian-Saxon Nysa conducted searches in several places in Zgorzelec County. During the operations, among other things, the officers dismantled a cannabis growing operation. The plantation was hidden among wild-growing raspberry bushes. In total, the officers seized 51 plants with a combined weight of more than half a kilogram. In addition, they found several doses of marijuana at the home of a 21-year-old man.
The Lower Silesian-Saxon Nysa group then detained further suspects in drug-related crime. The men, aged 24, 26 and 28, were caught with more than 1,000 doses of marijuana, and one of them also had methamphetamine.
Zgorzelec police officers and prosecutors are now clarifying all the circumstances of these cases in detail. Those detained for drug-related offences involving marijuana and methamphetamine may face up to 10 years in prison.
