The meeting was attended by, among others, parents of students of the Powiatowy Zespół Szkół i Placówek Specjalnych, as well as teachers from II Liceum Ogólnokształcące in Bolesławiec. Designer Bartłomiej Zachar presented the concept of redeveloping II LO and adding a building for the special school to everyone gathered.

– Parents of children at the special school oppose dragging us into the political arrangements and games of the Board – said a representative of the PZSiPS community during the meeting. Parents of students at the institution fear that their children will be mocked by high-school students and pupils from the nearby MZS No. 1. They want the special school to be housed in a separate building. They believe that the current proposals of the County authorities are part of a political struggle, but they did not explain between whom.

Teachers from the “two” shared a similar view. Their arguments, however, were very general. They spoke, among other things, about destroying the school’s reputation. The statement by the Teachers’ Council, which had not been on the agenda at all, turned out to be long and boring. Secretary Radosław Palczewski repeatedly tried to thank the teacher and interrupt her reading of the statement. She did not stop.

At one point, teachers from the special school threatened to leave the meeting because they felt uncomfortable. After several minutes, they left the meeting. They were outraged.

It is worth adding that a PZSiPS teacher pointed out to the high-school students, when they applauded almost everyone who spoke, that they spent only three years at school, while students of the special school sometimes spend as many as 22 years there.

Moreover, it turned out that the PZSiPS community resents the County for the fact that teachers and students of II LO attended the meeting. Teachers from the special school stressed that they had been told that only they and members of the County Council would participate in the meeting with the Board.
