On 13 June, at approximately 7:00 a.m., officers stopped a 53-year-old resident of Jelenia Góra who was driving a passenger vehicle for a roadside inspection. In his car, they found two bags containing cut tobacco with a total weight of 40 kg. In an outbuilding occupied by the 53-year-old, another three bags, each weighing 20 kg, were secured. (In total, the officers seized nearly 100 kg of cut tobacco without Polish excise-duty markings.)

The State Treasury's losses were initially estimated at nearly PLN 80,000. Police officers are currently investigating all the circumstances of the case in detail, including where the seized goods came from and where they were intended to go. The detained man faces a fine.
