Officers from the Economic Crime Unit of the Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters, as a result of operational activities, detained a man suspected of possessing and trading tobacco without Polish excise duty markings.
In the tobacco products shop, the officers also found illegal goods that were being sold “under the counter.” In total, they found nearly 8 kilograms of tobacco and more than 130 packs of cigarettes without Polish excise duty markings.
The officers had previously conducted similar proceedings against the 44-year-old resident of Bolesławiec. The losses to the State Treasury are estimated at more than 9,000 złoty.
The 44-year-old now faces up to 3 years in prison, as well as substantial financial penalties.
