A 78-year-old woman—convinced that she was helping her daughter financially—gave scammers PLN 20,000. The police once again remind everyone of the basic rules:
- never hand your money to a stranger
- never call numbers provided by the person speaking to you on the phone
- call your relatives and ask whether they really need help
- report any attempted fraud to the police immediately.
