The young people had been preparing for this event for over three months. They all completed the demanding course successfully. The group was led by WOPR instructor, MSc Maciej Marcinkiewicz.

The young lifeguards first took a test on water rescue knowledge, then completed further examination tasks at the swimming pool—timed swimming, underwater swimming and rescue operations. At the WOPR centre in Kunice, the young lifeguards operated boats and completed towing exercises. The young people from Bolesławiec performed excellently, and everyone passed the demanding tests.

At the end, in keeping with tradition, the lifeguards competed in a rescue operation using a rescue reel. This year, the participants from Bolesławiec won for the first time, decisively outperforming their rivals. The team consisted of: Jonasz Szkirpan, Weronika Niewiadomska, Piotr Śmietanka and Filip Przyłucki.

After the examination and the sporting highlight, it was time for the oath and awards. Young people from other WOPR centres also took part in the event, including those from Legnica, Lubin and Brzeg. An observer from the WOPR in Wrocław supervised the proper conduct of the event.

Thanks to the qualifications granted by the Ministry of the Interior and Administration, the lifeguards can work at all types of bodies of water.
