In December last year, we reported that renovation of platform no. 2 at the railway station in Bolesławiec had already been under way for some time. “At Bolesławiec station, the uneven surface of platform no. 2 posed a threat to the safe handling of passengers,” Bohdan Ząbek from the press team of PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A. explained to us at the time. “The repair was supposed to be carried out later that year, but due to the broader scope of the work, it will be carried out in 2016. After the slabs were uncovered, it was determined that, among other things, the drainage needed to be improved.”

Recently, we received another email from a Reader::

I would like your editorial team to look into the issue of the railway station in Bolesławiec. More precisely—the already familiar platform 2. Nothing has been done about it so far. Practically, there is no sign that any work is being carried out there. Perhaps the honourable city authorities will address the issue? After all, it is the city’s showcase.

We contacted B. Ząbek again. “Carrying out the renovation of platform no. 2 at Bolesławiec station on a larger scale than originally planned requires design work to be completed first,” says the PKP PLK spokesperson. “We are currently at the stage of evaluating the bids submitted for the completion of this task. Only after the design has been completed will it be possible to announce a tender to select a contractor for the work.”

It therefore appears that passengers will have to be patient. We will certainly return to the subject.
