Thanks to it, Lower Silesians will be able to genuinely participate in making decisions about social initiatives for the region. It is a civic project for spending public funds that responds to the need for social participation. The sports and tourism budget aims to build and develop Lower Silesians’ identity by activating civil society at the regional level. It also develops competition in obtaining public funds.

The pilot budget will have a pool of PLN 600,000 and will concern “soft” projects in the field of promoting sport and tourism and the region’s tourist assets, such as tourism events, local sports competitions, rallies, tours, conferences and seminars on tourism development and regional promotion, promoting local products and tourist attractions, as well as, for example, publications of a tourism-related nature (i.e. guidebooks, brochures, catalogues, information materials, etc.).

Among the projects from the Jelenia Góra district competing for funding from the Voivodeship’s budget is the initiative of the Bolesławiec Running Club – Lower Silesian Road Running Championships over 10 km in Bolesławiec. As we read on the program’s website:

The run is aimed at active residents of Lower Silesia. Its purpose is to develop participants’ sporting competition at the local and supra-local levels (preparation for other running events).

The run is also intended to promote a healthy lifestyle among participants and to develop and promote participation in sport.
