Police officers from the Criminal Division of Police Station I in Jelenia Góra, as a result of their investigations, identified and arrested a 29-year-old man suspected of theft.
The crime took place on April 20 at one of Jelenia Góra’s building supply stores. The man took advantage of the staff’s inattention and stole seven cleavers. Their value was estimated at more than PLN 1,000.
When the employees realized that a theft had occurred, they notified the police. Based on the information gathered in the case and surveillance footage, the officers identified and then arrested the man suspected of the crime. He turned out to be a 29-year-old resident of Jelenia Góra.
The police recognized the man because he had previously been convicted of similar offenses. The officers are currently clarifying all the circumstances of the case in detail and determining what happened to the stolen property.
The man confessed to the crime; he faces up to five years in prison.
