The incident took place on the night of April 26–27 in the Nowogrodziec municipality, in the area of allotment gardens. The perpetrator stole, among other things, two batteries, fishing rods and a brushcutter from a utility building. The owner estimated the losses at more than PLN 1,000.
A 29-year-old resident of the Nowogrodziec municipality was detained. In his apartment, officers found a significant portion of the stolen items. The burglar had already sold the remaining items, but the police managed to recover those as well.
The man admitted to the alleged offense. The 29-year-old had previously been convicted of offenses against property. He now faces up to 10 years in prison.
