Piotr Roman spoke.Piotr Roman “We would like to present to you the result of several months of work concerning the idea of developing the riverside promenade along the Bóbr,” he said. “We have only recently learned that this area can be developed. And we decided to work together on this issue.
Architect Monika Bartos presented the concept for developing the area between the two bridges. What could be located on the approximately 9-hectare site? Among other things, a pump track and a bike park, divided into four zones, each with a different level of difficulty. “Thanks to this feature, both older and younger people will be able to have a great time there,” M. Bartos emphasized. “In Switzerland, pump tracks have been recognized as some of the safest places for spending free time, alongside playgrounds,” the mayor added.
The promenade is also to feature a skate plaza, meaning a more modern skatepark with a fitness trail and outdoor gyms, as well as a climbing wall.
A sensory park would be created beyond the viaduct, with a beach volleyball area, spaces for bonfires and barbecues, an urban beach and a small café. Mayor P. Roman noted that parks of this kind are very popular in Western Europe.
The investment also includes plans to reconstruct the pedestrian footbridge by the viaduct (we have reported on this many times in our articles).
“This is a task for the next several years, unless we manage to find a one-off sum of several dozen million zlotys,” Piotr Roman stated. “It may be difficult, but I believe that first you need to know where you are going, because the one who does not know this will never get farthest. We know where we are going.
The mayor stressed, however, that all the investments would be carried out in a certain order: “First, we have to build an amphitheater in the park, which has never been called Waryński Park.
We will return to this topic.
