2 May: the drama “The Return” — a story of the tangled fates of two families, deeply hidden secrets from the past and secrets that were never meant to see the light of day. Local community. Christian arrives for the wedding of his father, a local tycoon, to a much younger woman. During his stay in his hometown, he renews contact with Oliver, a childhood friend. In time, he also gets to know Oliver’s closest family members and discovers a secret that could destroy Oliver’s family. As the story heads towards a grand finale, facts that were meant to remain buried forever unexpectedly come to light. A complicated past and secrets hidden for years prove to be a serious threat to family ties.

9 May: “That Sugar Film” — a documentary about the impact of sugar on the human body. The film exposes the truth about so-called healthy food and discusses the problems facing the sugar industry. The film sparked a revolution in Australia and grew into a huge educational project. It received the AACTA Award for Best Documentary Feature, presented by the Australian Film Institute, as well as a nomination for Best Documentary Feature at the Edinburgh International Film Festival.

16 May: “Breathless” — a French feature film produced in 1960 and directed by Jean-Luc Godard, who also co-wrote its screenplay. Michel, a rebellious young man, kills a police officer while fleeing in a stolen car. He realises that in a few hours he will be hunted by the police throughout the country. He therefore travels to Paris to collect money from a debtor, which would help him escape abroad. He also persuades a beautiful American woman, with whom he shares an undefined feeling, to leave with him. Matters begin to grow complicated when it turns out that the debtor has disappeared. Deprived of any means of escape, Michel feels increasingly trapped.

23 May: “Hail, Caesar!” — work is underway in Hollywood on a major cinematic spectacle. The film is intended to dazzle audiences, win all the awards and become a showcase for the power of the Dream Factory. Hundreds of extras, stunt performers, renowned production designers, a famous director and major stars have been hired for the big production. And him — Baird Whitlock, a cinema icon, a superstar and the object of desire of women and men around the world. Except that Whitlock is kidnapped... The film’s producers are tearing their hair out, and the gossip press begins to take an interest in the whole affair.

30 May: “Our Little Sister” — we will screen a Japanese drama. Three sisters live in a large, old house in Kamakura near Tokyo. When they learn of the death of their father, whom they have not seen for 15 years, they travel to a distant rural area to attend the funeral. There they meet their teenage half-sister, whose existence they did not know about. They invite her to live with them and decide to do everything they can to make the young girl feel part of the family.
