During this evening, you will have the opportunity to see both forms of dance, presented by participants of BOK-MCC workshops: the “Arabeska” oriental dance workshop led by Alicja Kowal and the “Carmen” flamenco dance workshop, whose instructor is Magdalena Zientara.
An additional attraction of the evening will be a performance by invited guests. A flamenco dance show will be presented by Katarzyna Radułowicz’s Flamenco Dance Studio. Colourful costumes and atmospheric music will transport you to sunny Spain.
Despite their different origins, flamenco and oriental dance display many similarities. Both forms are full of expression and convey emotion and sensuality. In flamenco, dancers express feelings through facial expressions and movements of the hands and arms, while the rhythm is emphasised by the stamping of heels. Oriental dance, on the other hand, is characterised by isolating individual parts of the body and the rhythmic raising and lowering of the hips.
